Good day to you all
Welcome to my review of a Ginkgo Biloba supplement. Initially I was looking at a formulation that would primarily be capsules but I changed my mind at the last minute. This Ginkgo Biloba Supplement review is one that is in a powder form.
Before I continue, I would like to remind you that the benefits, side effects and drug interactions of Ginkgo Biloba are covered in more detail in my previous post titled, “Is Ginkgo Biloba good for tinnitus?” if you would to like to learn more.
What are some of the benefits of taking a supplement in a powder form?
Before I jump straight into the review, I would like to inform you, of some of the benefits of a powder supplement.
- Quick Acting – Unlike capsules that still has to undergo the process of getting broken down and releasing it contents, supplements in powder form are readily available in the bloodstream as soon as it is ingested. This makes it a quicker form of delivery.
- Easily Digested – Depending on the supplements in question, it can be mixed with water, juice or any other beverage of your choice, making it easily digestible. In some cases, supplements can also be added into food.
- Cost Effective – From my experience I have found that powder supplements are cheaper and give me more value for my buck!!
- Dosage Flexibility – You are in control here of the quantity of powder to mix with your desired liquid. In certain cases you may have desire to take more or less of the powder. This flexibility is not easy as compared to if the product were in a tablet or capsule form. (Trust when it comes to this particular Ginkgo Product, you will find this flexibility highly beneficial…..read below and see why)
So without any further delay, I will now talk about my featured ginkgo biloba supplement.

Bulk Supplements
Just a little information on this company. Bulk Supplements established its reputation with over 200 nutritional supplement ingredients, to over 3 00 000 consumers and manufacturers.
The facility whereby manufacturing and distribution takes place is FDA-registered with cGMP practice.
About this product
This product contains Ginkgo Biloba extract that is taken directly from the Ginkgo tree and after testing has been shown to yield 24% Ginkgo Flavone Glycosides(which is the active constituents)
This is Great!!! remember I talked about the importance of concentration when selecting a specific Ginkgo product. It is the true active ingredients that make a product effective. This fact alone already has got my attention!!
Serving Suggestion
The recommended dosage is 175mg(1/16 tsp) two to three times a day with meals.
There are a lot of people who have found this dosage highly potent. Certain people have found that higher doses gave them a bit of anxiety or accelerated heart rate. Hence they cut intake to 50-90mg. Now do you see as mentioned above the importance of having dosage flexibility.
Remember this product is an extract and therefore depending on your response to it, less product should be used as opposed to other products that are NOT made from extract.
PROS
- Can be mixed with any healthy drink e.g. Smoothies or Green Ice tea. But the choice is yours at the end of the day.
- Free from sugar, soy, dairy , gluten or additives.
- Resealable Bag– Maintain product freshness and integrity
- Quick Acting – After mixed with beverage, product takes 30minutes to an hour to take an effect.
- Price- This product comes in 250gram size yielding about 1428 servings per container. If you decrease the dosage, this product will give you even more servings and last longer. This is value for the $20 you are paying.
Cons
- No scoop included- Given that the recommended doses requires 1/16 or 1/32 teaspoonful’s, I am surprised that this product does not come with an easy to measure scoop.
- Bitter Taste- This powder tastes very bitter and can be masked by mixing with beverages.
- Can be messy – Certainly avoidable and obvious with these type of formulations.
Conclusion
Overall this product offers benefit to your metabolism and mood enhancement. Certain people have found it useful for depression and stress as well.
The effects on the circulatory system of Ginkgo is what makes it a suitable product for us to try for our tinnitus. As I mentioned before if you are not taking any medication that pose a possible interaction with Ginkgo, then it is worthwhile to give this a go.
You have nothing to loose, the journey to finding out what helps with your tinnitus is always one filled with ups and downs. This provides us with yet another option.

Hello there,
Great post, actually I was searching for a new protein powder I used before ISO 100 and optimum nutrition trying to find something till I found your review of Gingko Biloba but I have a question there are no flavors? and also is the recommended dose you mentioned is written on the product? thanks for sharing.
Roopesh
HI Ehab
Thanks for your comment.
The Ginkgo Biloba supplement is much different from the ISO 100.Whilst ISO 100 as you mentioned is a whey protein, helping to build and maintain lean muscle mass, Ginkgo Biloba is a natural supplement that works on circulation rather than muscles.
This product is a plant based, containing a percentage of actual active constituents from the Ginkgo tree.As such it has no additives to maintain its high quality and integrity. For this reason, it does not come in flavours.
The recommended dosage is suggested on the label.
Hope this answers your questions
Please let me know if there is anything else that I can help with.

Hi there Roopesh,
I have never heard of Gingko Biloba, this actually surprised me as I thought I knew a lot about supplements and nutrition. I had to first read your other post. I’m very skeptical about trying new supplement brands but your review seems very convincing and Bulk Supplements seem very legit.
Was just wondering, is there really 1428 servings in a container? That could last me over a year taking 3 servings per day.
Roopesh
Hi Xander
Thanks for your comment.
That is actually a great question. That information is printed on the item label.
Yes, I do believe it can last that long as it is a 250grams size container.
Thanks for the question.
Kind Regards

Hi Roopesh,
My tinnitus is actually very mild so it doesn’t affect me too much just yet, but I am increasingly concerned with the risk that it could develop into a more serious problem.
If I’m taking Ginko in the powdered form, is a smaller dosage appropriate for less serious cases of tinnitus?
Roopesh
Hi Jdoo
Thanks for your question.
Glad to hear that your tinnitus is mild and is not causing a hindrance in your life.
Personally, if I was in your situation I would not even consider taking the ginkgo for your tinnitus. As it is manageable on its own.
Maybe just follow some gentle exercise workouts or Tai Chi or yoga just for regular maintenance.
If however, you still wish you go ahead with the powder, I would start off on 50mg-90mg a day.
Please let me know if there is anything else, that I can assist with.
Take Care and all the best to you.

I did use gingko Biloba once, it was during my college time when I am using it to improve my memorization. I never taught that Gingko Biloba is good for tinnitus. That is good to know. So increasing circulation do also relieve tinnitus, now I know which supplement I am going to use if I will experience similar problem.
Roopesh
Hi Salf
I have decided to talk about Ginkgo to give people another option to try out for thei tinnitus.
It may not always work, but like I said in my previous post, if someone’s Tinnitus is circulation related then Ginkgo may just do the trick.
Glad to have kept you informed.

Hi Roopesh,
Thank you very much for this article!
It is very well explained and it feels like you really know what you are talking about 🙂
I honestly think that capsules are better than powder because you don’t have to worry about the taste, it’s easier to measure the quantity and the intake.
But like you said it pretty well, I also noticed that the capsules are usually way more expensive than powder.
So I should probably give it a try now 🙂
Keep up the great content!
Best,
Matt
Roopesh
Hi Matt
Thanks for your comment.
Really appreciate your honesty regarding your preference over the capsules.
If you give it a try, please let me know what you think of it.
Hope to hear from you soon.

A few years ago I actually used to drink Gingko Biloba herbal tea, and I’m sure I noticed a benefit. I felt more alert and energised, and I’m pretty sure it increased my libido too. But this was just from a tea, which is probably a lower dose than you would have when you take a supplement. Do you find that you get an effect from it very quickly, or does it take time to build up?
Also, would you recommend combining it with any other supplements for a synergistic effect?
Roopesh
Hey Marcus
Thanks for your share.
I think not all Ginkgo Herbal teas are strong. It sounds to me that the one you had, was a high potency one.Hence, the effects that you felt from it, is very possible.
I want to try it out but I first have to complete the course that I am currently taking for condition that’s the ENT said is o cause my tinnitus.Once the 6months are up, I will try the Ginkgo and let you know how it works.
If you want to take another supplement with the Ginkgo, let me know what it is and I will check it out and let you know if it is safe to take.

Hi there! I always hear about gingko biloba on commercial ads. Most especially in food supplement products. But it is not clear to me on what is its real effect on human body. Based on you article, I learned that it helps people’s metabolism. So is it good alternative to slimming pills? By the way, is gingko biloba organic? I mean there are already plenty of products out their that are artificially made. I just want to make sure that I drink or take the right supplements. Thanks in advance for your response.
Roopesh
Hi Rico
Thank you for stopping by.
There are weight slimming products that contain Ginkgo as an ingredient, but there is no conclusive proof that Ginkgo actually is an alternative to slimming pills.
This products is not an artificial supplement as it does not contain colorants or additives. But to my knowledge,it is not organic.
Thanks for some great questions.
Let me know if there is anything else, that I can help with.
All the best to you.

Mianka
Thank you very much for the info on the company, I am always a little skeptical.
I found it very helpful since I was looking into some supplements I could use.
I would usually use powders in my smoothies so I would not taste it.. 🙂
I have read other reviews too, and this is definitely a great product.
Do you think that there is any difference between taking the powder vs taking the capsule?
Thanks for the review Roopesh
Roopesh
Hi Mianka
You are most welcome.
I personally need to be 100% sure myself of who I deal with, before I make any dealings with them.
It’s great to see that you too read the reviews of this product. This helps to show you the level of satisfaction of the people who have taken this product. It either motivates you to buy or become discouraged from purchasing.
I think that it depends on the concentration content of the capsules verses the powder formulation. As I mentioned, just buying capsules with Ginkgo Leaf powder is not as potent as having a powder form containing a concentration of Ginkgo Leaf Extract with a stipulated concentration of terpenoids.
Hope this answers your questions.
Thanks and Take Care

Hi Roopesh,
I really enjoy reading your articles – my nan has a perforated ear drum and suffers from tinnitus quite badly so I will definitely let her know about Gingko Biloba. Would you know how much it would be to ship internationally or if it is a product we could purchase from Amazon UK?
Thank you for your help 🙂
Roopesh
Hi Holly
Thank you very much for sharing.
I am sorry to hear about your Nan’s situation. I know what you mean when you say that her tinnitus is quite bad, I can totally relate to that.
Look, the ginkgo will help more if the tinnitus is circulation related. Nonetheless, if she has no contraindications to this product, then there is certainly no harm in trying it out.
Unfortunately this product is not stocked at the Amazon UK, store.
Whereabout are you located? I will find out the international shipping costs for you.
Should you decide to try out the Ginkgo, please let me know of the results.
I would love to hear from you.

Roopesh, I was searching online about information on Gingko Biloba, and came across your article. I have heard the name before but not much about the product benefits.Thank for explaining that it is for metabolism and mood enhancement. It appears to be a natural product as well so I’m assuming it would be safe. Great tip about buying it in powder bulk and saving, even more, money.
Thanks for you review on this product.

Hi Bob

I read with interest your review on Ginko Biloba Powder. My sister has been telling me that I need Ginkgo.
That is her way of telling me diplomatically, I think, that I need to address my memory. Or is it that she is telling me that I am hearing other things?
I have learnt a lot from your post. Thanks for the information on the benefits of using powdered supplements.
Are there other benefits of Ginkgo Biloba?
Roopesh
Hi Pansy
Thank you very much for your comment.
I am sure that your sister only means well. Besides, there are numerous benefits that Ginkgo does offer.
It helps with improving blood flow to areas of the body that receive an inadequate amount of supply. Such areas include the hands, feet, the brain, ears, eyes, nerves as well as lower legs.
It helps to maintain good nerve function and assist in improving mental conditions such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
It helps to improve mood disturbances and prevents damage to kidneys that may be caused by taking certain drugs. e,g. cyclosporine, which is an immunosuppressant.
These are just some of the benefits that Ginkgo Biloba offers.
Thank you for stopping by

Excellent review and information. My wife and I have a juicer and we enjoy making smoothies and vegetable juice concoctions. We sometimes include protein powder in our drinks. I’ve known that Gingko Biloba has many health benefits, but never knew it came in a powder form. I’ll have to get some and add it to our juices. As we get older we could always use a product that will help our circulation And because it’s in a powder form, it will be quickly digested, as opposed to a pill.
Thanks for sharing this,
David
Roopesh
Hello David
Glad you found this informative.
Yes, it would be excellent idea to give this powder a try in your smoothies.
Once you do, give me a shout and let me know how it goes.

Dear Roopesh
A great reviews regarding this product. It seems the product is the best supplement that can give a pure nutrients. I would like to ask some question, is this product have any chemical interaction with other hypertensive and diabetes drugs? This s because people come and buy the product are coming from various kind of past medical and surgical history.
Roopesh
Hi Rendall
If your blood pressure is not controlled, I would NOT recommend using this product. If you are a diabetic, this product is safe for you.
I hear exactly where you are coming from, it helps to know one’s history before starting any supplementation.
Thanks and take care
